May it be to me as you have said.

Luke 1:38 I am the Lord’s servant, Mary answered. May it be to me as you have said.

As I read this verse I thought WOW this should be our prayer everyday. Mary was just told by the angel that she would conceive a child by the Holy Spirit and He would be the Messiah, the promised One. Her world would change from this day forth. People once kind and friendly to her would start to stare and tongues would wag. People would begin to avoid her. She would live in a very dark world as the light of the world grew inside her. But Mary knew her God was faithful and could be trusted at all cost. As I thought about her prayer, I begin to think that God has put a call on each one of our lives. Mine will be different from yours. He created us for such a time as this. We are put in our little part of the world to walk out His plan for our life. Sometimes we don’t feel worthy of this calling, or sometimes we don’t know how or when it will ever come to pass in our life. But one thing we do know is that He is faithful and He can be trusted with our life. Oh my dear friend, let us bow our heads and say, I am the Lord’s servant, May it be to me as You have said. Let’s surrender our agenda for His. And just like Mary we will see Jesus change our world for His glory.
