Give Your Heart to Him

I’ve been looking at the life of Paul, formally know as Saul. We are first introduced to Saul in the book of Acts 7:58, when Stephen is stoned to death and in Acts 8:1 we see Saul giving his approval. Who is Saul? He is very religious, he was trained by the best (Gamaliel), his intentions and efforts are sincere, he was a Pharisee and the son of a Pharisee, he knew the scriptures (Acts22:3-5). So what changed in Saul of Chapter 7 to Paul of Chapter 9? He met Jesus face to face. Saul had head knowledge, but Paul had heart knowledge. I’ve heard an old saying that goes; Some people will miss heaven by 12 inches…the distance between their head and their heart. You can’t just know Jesus in your head, you have to go deeper and know Him in your heart. The Pharisee’s knew the scriptures backwards and forwards but they missed Jesus. Jesus stood right in front of them, taught the scriptures, fulfilled the scriptures, and they still missed Him. Why? It was their heart attitude. What do you know in your heart? What do you trust in your heart? What do you believe in your heart? Oh my dear friend, give your heart to Him and you will begin a life changing relationship with the Creator of the universe. Oh how He loves you.

Prov. 4:20-24 NLT My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they are life to those who find them and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
